We now stock a small range of solar photovoltaic panels. These are polycrystalline panels made from wafers of silicon laminated between an impact-resistant transparent cover and an EVA rear mounting plate. They are constructed with a lightweight anodised aluminium frame which is predrilled for linking to other frames/roof mounting structure, and contain waterproof electrical terminal box on the rear.



In order to calculate the expected yield from these panels, it is assumed that the UK receives on average (bad days and good days) around 4-5hours peak sun hours during the summer and 1 hour of peak sun hours in the winter. In terms of roof area, 1m2 will generally equate to approximately 140watts of solar PV panel For an array of 1kWp, you would expect to produce around 750kWh of electricity per year, if sited on a suitable south-facing location. Solar yields will vary across the country, and you can expect significantly more solar power from Devon and Cornwall by comparison to Scotland.

12V SOLAR PANELS AND REGULATORS

The combination of multi-crystal cells and a high-reliability module structure make this series of ideal solar module. For large-scale power generation hundreds or even thousands of modules can be connected n series to meet the desired electric power requirements. Amorphous silicon solarpanel fitted in a anodised aluminium panel. Panel measures 3' by 1' with 3 metre flyleads. One of these panels will run our solar water pump in full sunlight 14 watts approx 13.8v output.

Just in are these 3' by 1' 12v Solar panels with a minimum output of 8  watts.. Made from Amorphous silicon they are suitable for outside use providing the edges and the back of the panel are watertight. Due to us having to have packing cases made the panels are only available in quantities of 4 unless you are happy to collect from our shop where you can have any quantity you like.

The panels are the same modules as the ones above but are not framed and are slightly lower output.

To connect to the panels use either cold solder paste, low temperature solder, glue gun or some type of mechanical clip.

three watt 12" square solar panel

These amorphous silicon solar panels are 12" square and have a Kevlar back panel. Each solar panel has two copper strips down the edge which you can solder directly to. Output is 13.8v (12v) 3 watts. You will need to seal the edges if the solar panel will get wet.

Differential thermostat kit

If you are building your own solar system you could use one of our kits for controlling it. The kit contains to sensors, one you place on the solar panel, the other on the tank. When there is a temperature difference between the sensors (this is adjustable on the pcb) a relay operates. This could turn a pump on until the temperatures were back below the pre-set temperature difference.

A set of three garden solar lights with super bright white LED lighting. The supplied rechargeable battery is a standard AA size. There is a daylight detector that turns the LED on when it gets dark and off in the morning. Run for approx 6 hours when fully charged. The lamps are made of plastic. approx 1' high, 5" diameter.

High quality stainless steel solar garden lights. These solar lights have 2 bright white LED's, 2 batteries and a much larger solar surface area (double the size) They also feature an on/off switch 17cm diameter, 30cm tall. Finished in good quality stainless steel they are quite attractive

To complement the garden lights we have some solar post lights, these are designed to be bolted down to a patio, wall or post. Supplied with 3 coach bolts for secure fitting. Very large solar panel ensures excellent performance combined with good looks. 50cm high, 22cm diameter. Again with on/off switch and daylight sensor. We also stock a taller version, 85cm high.
