These kits are a scaled down version of a commercial Nickel plating plant, the true
industrial Nickel plating process at your finger tips. A lasting professional, decorative
water resistant matt or lustrous finish can be acheived without any previous experience.
Nickel plating can be used to reclaim worn out or over machined
surfaces.
From a rusted component to a Nickel plated lasting showpiece in
three hours.
For decorative work Nickel plating will range from 1/2 hour up to 3 hours
according to the thickness of the Nickel plate required. The plating solution is reusable.
1kg of the Nickel salts (as supplied in the workshop kit) will last for 0ver 13,000 sq cm
of .001 (25 micron) Nickel plating without the need to replenish or replace. The salts
will store for many years in liquid or solid form. Nickel plating can be carried out at
any temperature from 15 degC up to 35 degC, although slightly better results are obtained
at 24degC or higher.
The comprehensive instructions supplied with each Nickel plating kit will
guide you through all the stages of the plating process from the initial preparation of
the parts to be Nickel plated through to the finished product with hints and tips to get
the very best from your kit.
The Nickel plating process can be used as a substitute for Zinc or
Cadmium plating. The finish is dictated by the preparation. For a matt finish wire
brushins is sufficient. If the surfaces are polished prior to being electroplated they can
be buffed up to acheive the beautiful sheen of the original.

THE NEW ZINCFAST XL ZINC PLATING
SYSTEM
The Zincfast XL is a new bright-zinc
plating process totally Cyanide
free
Formulated to produce a bright Zinc deposit on Steel and
Iron.
"Zincfast XL" is ideal for Motorcycle and Car Components and because
it operates at an electrolytic efficency of nearly 100%, it will not
interfere with the molecular structure of the Steel, therefore it is
suitable for all types of fasteners.
THE VALUE OF ZINC AS a RUST-PROOF FINISH FOR IRON AND STEEL HAS LONG BEEN
APPRECIATED. ZINC PLATING IS BEING USED ON AN INCREASING SCALE, PARTICULARLY
FOR COMPONENTS WHICH WOULD FORMERLY HAVE BEEN CADMIUM PLATED.
THE PROTECTION GIVEN TO THE STEEL IS NOT DUE TO AN ENVELOPE EFFECT"
ALONE, BY REASON OF THE ZINC FORMING A CONTINUOUS COATING OVER THE WHOLE
ARTICLE, BUT IS LARGELY DUE TO ITS BEHAVIOUR AS THE ANODE IN ANY
ELECTRO-CHEMICAL REACTION THAT MAY OCCUR, THE RESULT BEING THAT THE ZINC
CORRODES PREFERENTIALLY TO THE UNDERLYING METAL TO AVOID~ COMPLETE CORROSION OF
THE PROTECTIVE FILM THE ZINC CREATES A TENACIOUS OXIDE SKIN WHICH RESISTS ANY
FURTHER ATTACK. THE "PASSIVATING" PROCESS TOUGHENS THE OUTER LAYER AND
ENHANCES FURTHER THE RUST PROOF QUALITIES OF THE COATING, PROLONGING THE LIFE OF
THE BASIS METAL.
ZINC FAST IS A COMPLETE SYSTEM
It has made it possible for the small Operator to achieve
fully professional results without any previous experience in
electro-plating. "Zincfast XL" gives excellent value for money
and, most important, allows the user full Control of the operation.
How fast is "Zincfast XL"? A 10 MicrQn (UN) Average coating
is
achieved in less than 2Q minutes. PassivatiOn takes ;appx.30 secs.
The "WORKSHOP XL" Kit contains all the necessary chemicals for
12 ltrs.Of Plating Solution and 12 litres. of Passivating Solution.
The Degreasant, the Copper Wire for suspending the parts, the pH
papers and high Purity Anodes are all included in the Kit.
To electro-plate you will need a l2Volt battery, Plastic containers
for the Plating and Passivating tanks 'and l2Volt light bulbs for
regulating the Amperage as used with the Nickel Plating System.
